Favorite "What is Instructional Design?" blogs

"What exactly is Instructional Design?"

Having recently abandoned my doctoral dreams to pursue a second master's degree in instructional design, I am often asked this question by my colleagues. I have discovered that most educators view instructional design as a synonym for curriculum design, which is understandable... heck; I did too before I stumbled across a few blogs that explained the field of instructional design (ID). Below are my three favorite blogs. I hope you find them to be as interesting and informative as I did.

MindDezign's Top 3 ID Blogs

3. Corporate e-Learning Strategies and Development (http://elearndev.blogspot.com/)

Why I read this blog: Brent Schlenker, the writer is a seasoned ID vet but he uses terms that newcomers can easily understand.

2. Instructional Design and Development Blog (www.iddblog.org)

Why I read this blog: This blog is maintained by the faculty of the Instructional Technology Services department at De Paul University. I love the differing viewpoints of the culturally diverse faculty and the Contributors page offers interesting insight as to the wildly diverse career backgrounds and varying positions of instructional designers.
